How to Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows XP, 7 And 8:You can Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows to boost the performance of your PC.Random Access Memory is the main memory of your PC.With low RAM you can face problems like PC not responding,cannot run high configuration games,etc.You can upgrade your RAM any time but it is a costly deal.So here I am going to some easy methods by which you can Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows.Having a Pen drive is very common nowadays but almost all the people use it as a secondary storage device to store store their stuff and move it from one device to another.This article will guide you to Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows.

How to Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows:-

1. Connect your USB Pen drive to your PC.

2. Click on START button,then go to My computer and right on it,Select Properties.

3. This will open a new window,Click on Advanced system settings  at the left.

4. A pop-up will appear,Click on Advanced tab and then select  settings

5. Another pop-up window of  Performance Options will appear.Click on Advanced tab.

 

6. In the Advanced tab you will see an option of Change under Virtual memory,click on it.

7. In the Virtual memory window uncheck  Automatically Manage Paging files size for all drives(For Windows 7 & 8 Users ).

8. Select your Pen drive and choose custom size.Fill the Initial and Maximum size as per the free space available on your Pen drive.

Note:- The Pen drive should of atleast 1Gb.It is recommended to leave 10-20 Mb from the space available for eg. if the space available is 3700 Mb then fill approx 3690 or lesser in the initial and maximum size to ensure your device safety.

9. Click on Set and then OK

Restart your PC and don’t remove your your Pen drive.

You have successfuly  Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows and your system performance has been increased.

How to Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows:Alternate Method:-

(For Windows Vista and 7 users only)

1.Connect your Pen drive to your PC.

2. Click on START button,then select My computer

3. Right click on your Pen drive and click on ReadyBoost Tab.

4. Now select Use this device and adjust the slider to allocate the memory that will be used as a virtual RAM for your PC.

Make sure to leave approx 200-300 MB from the current memory space

5. Click Apply and then hit OK.

You have successfuly  Use USB Pen Drive as RAM In Windows and your system performance has been increased.

Important:- You will not be able to send any data to the Pen drive till it is being used as a virtual memory for your PC.If you want to to send data and bring it in previous condition then follow step 1 to 6 of method 1 and then check Automatically Manage Paging files size for all drives.If you have used alternate method then revert back the settings back to normal.

Removing your Pen drive without altering the settings may cause your PC to crash or even your Pen drive can stop working.
