How to take Full Screen Screenshot in Windows

  • Press the Print Screen key present on your keyboard.The entire screen will be copied to the clipboard and now you need to paste it in a program to save it.
  • Select Paint/word from the Start menu and open it
  • Press Ctrl+and this will paste the image to it
  • Name the file and then save it

The print screen key can be labelled differently on different keyboard like  “PrtScn”, “Prnt Scrn”, “Print Scr”, “PrintSysRq”.

The dimensions of the image will be same to that of your desktop resolution.

Tip for Windows 8 users:-In windows 8 you can press win+PrtScn and a fullscreen screenshot will be saved into your Screenshots folder in Pictures folder.

How to take a One Window Screenshot in Windows

To take a One Window Screenshot in Windows follow these steps:-

  • Press Alt+PrtScn and it will be copied to the clipboard and now you need to paste it in a program to save it
  • Select Paint/word from the Start menu and open it
  • Press Ctrl+and this will paste the image to it
  • Name the file and then save it

Using Alt+PrtScn you can take screenshot of a particular window i.e. active window.The size will depend upon the dimension of the image.

How to take Screenshot in Windows Using the Snipping Tool

The Snipping Tool Feature is available in all version of Windows Vista, 7, and 8 except the Starter and Basic editions and Windows XP.

  • In the Start menu type “snipping Tool” and click on Snipping Tool icon.

  • By default Rectangular Snip is selected but you can change it to Free-form Snip,Window Snip,Full-screen Snip.
  • Click on New button and select the desired area of which you want to take screenshot.

  • A new window will open and in it you can edit your screenshot.
  • Click on Floppy icon to save the screenshot.

  • Name the screenshot and select a location to it.
